Jagan curbs liquor sales in Andhra Pradesh

In a bid to curb liquor sales in Andhra Pradesh, the Jagan-led government has rolled out a new excise policy in the state and has cut down on operating hours of liquor shops, which will now operate from 11 am 8 pm. Moreover, no one can buy and possess more than 3 litres of hard liquor in the state.

The government had announced earlier this month that the number of liquor outlets will be reduced from 4,380 to 3,500 and will be eventually phased out.
