The high-level committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind has recommended simultaneous elections in India in its over 18,000-page report that it submitted to President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday. Meanwhile, several opposition parties have opposed the idea of holding simultaneous polls and have alleged that it would undermine parliamentary democracy and federalism.
