India aims to bring emission intensity down by 45% by 2030: PM Modi at COP28

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that India is aiming to bring emission intensity down by 45% by 2030.

Addressing the COP28 climate Summit in Dubai, PM Modi said, "India has set the target to bring emission intensity down by 45% by 2030 and increase the share of non-fossil fuels to 50%."

He further added, "India has set an example of a balance between ecology and economy. India has 17 per cent of the global population. Despite so, India's contribution to global carbon emissions is less than 4 per cent."
