Govt should also let opposition leaders of India visit Kashmir, says EU MP

One of the European Union MPs who is part of the 23-member EU MPs delegation to visit Srinagar said the Indian government should also allow the opposition leaders in the country to visit Kashmir.

The 23 European Union MPs on Tuesday arrived in Srinagar for a first-hand assessment of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of the state's special status under Article 370.

"I think if you let in people from the European Parliament, you should also let in opposition politicians from India. There is some kind of disbalance but the government should somehow address it," the European MP told India Today TV.
