Govinda joins Shiv Sena, likely to contest from Mumbai Northwest

Actor Govinda on Thursday joined Shiv Sena in the presence of Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde in Mumbai. He may contest the Lok Sabha polls from Mumbai North-West seat. 

This is Govinda's second comeback in politics. Earlier in the 2004 Lok Sabha election, Govinda contested the Mumbai North Lok Sabha on Congress ticket and had defeated the senior BJP leader Ram Naik.

However, Govinda later parted ways with the Congress party and politics, deciding not to contest elections in the 2009 Lok Sabha polls.
