Delhi HC dimisses plea challenging appointment of Rakesh Asthana as top cop

The Delhi High Court dismissed the plea challenging the appointment of Indian Police Services (IPS) officer Rakesh Asthana as Delhi Police Commissioner.

Last week, the bench had reserved its verdict after completing its hearing of the matter.

The petition had challenged Rakesh Asthana’s appointment on the grounds that the proper procedure and rules were not followed.
