Cauvery boards orders Karnataka government to release water as Chennai suffers severe water crisis

The Cauvery Water Management Authority on Tuesday ordered the Karnataka government to release water to Tamil Nadu for the month of June and July.

The order came after residents of a locality in Chennai complained of receiving sewage water in hand pumps, which are the only source of water in the area.
