West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee slammed the Election Commission and asked the poll panel "how and why does Prime Minister Narendra Modi always campaign on election day".

"Every election day, PM Narendra Modi comes to Bengal to give an address. Why only on election day? If we don't get to campaign on elections day, why does the prime minister get to come and give a speech. We cannot campaign on election areas. Why is PM Modi campaigning on election day? Is it not wrong? Is it not violation of election rules (moral code of conduct for polls?," Mamata Banerjee said while speaking to reporters in Nandigram.
