Modi vs Mamata: Is BJP trying to make inroads in Bengal?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi kickstarted BJP's campaign in Bengal on Saturday for the upcoming Lok Sabha election with two rallies in the border district of North 24 Parganas and the industrial town of Durgapur. The Durgapur rally of the prime minister was part of BJP's 'Ganatantra Bachao' (save democracry) programme in the state.

PM Modi slammed Mamata Banerjee's rule in Bengal and said, "I used to think that didi, who has herself suffered a lot during the Left regime, will not walk on the same path. But I was surprised that she adopted the same tactics. You can take this from me in writing 'Inka jaana tay hai'."
