We will contest elections alone, definitely not in alliance: Kamal Haasan

Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Chief Kamal Haasan in an interview with India Today TV said that his party will contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections independently.

"I think the very reason that we came into politics as a party is that we wanted to displace both DMK and AIADMK. That was our intent," Kamal Haasan said.

He also said that there is no question of an alliance and the party has already started finding proper candidates.

Kamal Haasan said that they do not intend to run the election on money, adding that they will use their uniqueness and ingenuity to gain votes.

He also talked about Mamata Banerjee's dharna and said that he speaks out when something right is happening.

"It's my chagrin that something similar didn't happen in Tamil Nadu," Kamal Haasan said.
