Bharat Biotech to scale up Covaxin production to 1 billion doses a year

Bharat Biotech, manufacturer of indigenous Covid-19 vaccine 'Covaxin' is planning to scale up its production to 1 billion doses a year.

With this as its goal, the company on Thursday announced that Covaxin will now also be produced at a production unit in Ankleshwar in Gujarat.

If all goes as planned, India's Covid vaccination drive should be back on track in a month or so.
