Production of Sputnik V Covid vaccine to start in August in India

Indian envoy to Russia Venkatesh Varma on Saturday announced that the production of Sputnik V Covid vaccine in India will start in August.

He stated that over 2 lakh doses of the vaccine have already been supplied to India and 30 lakh doses will be supplied in bulk by the end of this month. In June, this number will increase to 50 lakh doses, he stated.

India is expected to produce a total of 850 million doses of Sputnik V.
