Shops can't decline Rs 2,000 notes, no need to panic: RBI chief Shaktikanta Das

Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanti Das said on Monday that Rs 2000 currency notes continue to be legal tender and shops cannot decline them. The RBI chief further said there was no reason to panic and that enough time was accorded for exchanging the denomination. In a notification by the RBI, people were asked to exchange or deposit Rs 2000 notes by September 30, 2023.
