Controversies and Bollywood go hand in hand. Take a look at some of the famous Bollywood controversies of the year 2012, which got media attention.

At the success party of the film Agneepath, the bash created a tiff between Shah Rukh Khan and his once upon a time friend Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder. Apparently SRK could not take the joke that Shirish made on Twitter where he wrote, 'I just heard a 150 crore firecracker fizzle out'. SRK known for his witty sense couldn't deal with Shirish's comments about his films and allegedly slapped Shirish. However, later Farah helped her friend SRK and hubby get over their dispute. As they say 'All's well that ends well'.

Controversy's child SRK was accused of entering the IPL ground drunk and also misbehaving with the Wankhede stadium officials. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) banned SRK from entering the stadium for five years. Few days before the Wankhede controversy, the actor was seen smoking on April 8 at the Sawai Man Singh in Jaipur which raised many eyebrows.

Also this year, SRK grabbed headlines as he was silently part of rift between his Don co-star Priyanka Chopra and his best friend Karan Johar. The fight between Karan and Priyanka turned dirty as one of her friend was quoted saying that the actress heard bitchy comments about her being made by a producer-director. Later, Karan tweeted saying, "Using their hired PR machinery and hiding behind so called "friends" to get news into tabloids is nothing but spineless and lame!!!" There were reports of Priyanka been sidelined in the industry, however, soon things between Priyanka and Karan were sorted.

As the year came to an end, SRK got involved into another silent controversy, but this time it was for his film Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Ajay Devgn and his company took legal action against Yash Raj Films. However, SRK cleared his side by saying, "I am no one to speak about Son of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hain Jaan together. It's the producer's lookout. Ajay mera dushman nahi hain. Screen distribution mera call nahi hain."

The controversy behind Jab Tak Hai Jaan affected Kajol the most, who at an event claimed that the tussle between husband Ajay production house and YRF affected her relationship with the latter. "Yes, it affected my relationship. But that was a situation which had come out of ordinary. It was not a normal situation... It doesn't occur normally. It doesn't happen everyday... Hopefully, it will not happen in future again," said Kajol.

Another controversy which was blown out of proportion was Saif Ali Khan's fight with an NRI at the Taj hotel in Mumbai. The actor was also dragged into legal hassle after he allegedly pushed the guy. There were also reports of the fight been a publicity stunt as it happened few days before Saif's film Agent Vinod hit the theatre.

We all know the story about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being replaced with Kareena Kapoor in Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, as she got pregnant. And while Bebo and Bhandarkar were busy promoting their film Heroine, Ash planned a vacation coinciding with the date of release of the film.

Actor Akshay Kumar ditched his friend Farah Khan and director Shirish Kunder as he kept himself away from promotion of Shirish's film Joker. Farah too expressed her unhappiness with Akshay's ignorance and said, "Akshay didn't do justice to the film. I don't know why and eh wouldn't tell me too. In a film, you're your duty to promote it and I am sadden by his behaviour."

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's weight gain controversy became the talk of the country. The year 2012 fell hard on Ash after her few pictures sparked an intense debate about her weight gain. But Aishwarya have always maintained a no-care attitude to such remarks.

Aamir Khan's show Satyamev Jayate got into trouble when it turned the spotlight on healthcare and malpractices in the medical profession. This exposure landed Aamir in the bad books of the Indian Medical Association (IMA). Later, medical institutions demanded an appology from Aamir for accusing doctors of malpractices on a national TV. But, a strong-willed Aamir remained unapologetic about the entire issue.

During the shooting of Ek Tha Tiger, a magazine report claimed that Salman Khan was again back to his bratty ways after he had allegedly beaten up ex-flame Katrina Kaif when she walked in wearing a 'figurehugging, cleavage-revealing dress that showed too much skin' on the sets of the film. Though these reports were claimed untrue later.

Bollywood legend Rajesh Khanna passed away this year, but left his Aashirwad bungalow under the scanner. The actor's lover Anita Advani sent a legal notice to the Khannas, just a day before the actor died. Anita was in a live-in relationship with Rajesh Khanna for eight years and claims her right on his house in Bandra.

Kareena Kapoor made news with her wedding with Saif Ali Khan, the most-talked about wedding of the year. She also made news for the debacle of her over-hyped film Heroine which turned out to be a disaster. Recently. Kareena found herself in a fresh controversy after being paid Rs 1.40 crores for an eight minute performance at Chhattisgarh's state celebrations.

Barfi's bitter truth
Barfi! was India's official entry at the Oscars 2013, was not so unique after all. Videos uploaded on several websites, notably YouTube, revealing plenty of scenes in the film that are copied frame for frame from sundry international classics and hits. As many as 22 long scenes were lifted from international films.

Actor Rani Mukerji's brother Raja was arrested in Versova on October 14 after an aspiring television director accused him of molesting her. According to her, the incident happened when she had gone to meet Raja to narrate a script. She added that Raja molested her in his car.
