                        Tubelight:

In the last few years, Salman Khan has established himself as the 'Sultan' of the box office. However, Tubelight, which released earlier this year, put an end to his winning streak. The Kabir Khan-directed film could not move much beyond the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office, a shockingly low figure for an Eid release of Salman's. Tubelight tanked so badly, that the actor had to actually compensate distributors for their losses.

                        Jab Harry Met Sejal:

Shah Rukh Khan's return to the romance genre with a film directed by Imtiaz Ali... Needless to say, expectations were high. However, Jab Harry Met Sejal proved to be a massive disappointment, both critically and commercially. The film became Shah Rukh's lowest opener in five years, and could not even recover its budget in its box office run.

                        Jagga Jasoos:

Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu's first collaboration, Barfi!, received thunderous applause from the audience as well as the critics. Needless to say, a lot was expected from their next Bollywood outing, Jagga Jasoos. Not just this, fans were also excited to watch Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif together on screen after their much-publicised break-up. However, Jagga Jasoos, which was reportedly made on a staggering budget of Rs 110 crore, failed to set the cash registers ringing.

                        Simran:

Kangana Ranaut dominated the headlines for weeks before the release of Simran, but all the buzz did nothing to help the fate of Simran. Fans were hoping that Simran would be another Queen for Kangana, but the controversial film sank without a trace.

                        Haseena Parkar:

When Shraddha Kapoor unveiled the first look of Haseena Parkar, fans were intrigued to see the actor in a gritty avatar, a far cry from her usual bubbly roles. Though she nailed the Godmother of Nagpada look, her performance was a different story altogether. Haseena Parkar was unanimously panned upon its release, and did not work wonders at the ticket windows either.

                        Rangoon:

Vishal Bhardwaj called it his most ambitious film till date, made on a whopping budget of Rs 80 crore. With powerhouse performers like Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in the cast, Rangoon was expected to create magic at the box office. Unfortunately, Rangoon ended its run at Rs 20-something crore.

                        Bhoomi:

Bhoomi was Sanjay Dutt's comeback film - his return to the big screen after a gap of three years; he was last seen in a guest appearance in Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer PK. However, this much-hyped revenge drama, touted to be Sanjay's "best performance till date" found no takers.

                        Half Girlfriend:

Celluloid adaptations of Chetan Bhagat's novels (3 Idiots, 2 States, Kai Po Che) have always had a good run at the box office. Half Girlfriend, however, was not one of them. The film was insufferable, courtesy the vapid Shraddha Kapoor and the trying-too-hard-to-sound-Bihari Arjun Kapoor and after an initial stroke of luck at the box office, the audience gave Half Girlfriend a thumbs down.

                        Raabta:

The buzz surrounding the lead pair Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon, who were rumoured to be in a relationship, could not drive the audience to the thratres. Although Raabta did well in its opening weekend, its fortunes dipped in the consecutive days. The Dinesh Vijan-directed film earned a total of Rs 20.71 crore against its reported budget of Rs 50 crore.

                        Sarkar 3:

After a series of disappointing films, Ram Gopal Varma was banking on the third installment of his hit Sarkar franchise. All eyes were on the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer, but it was widely panned and could not even come close to the success of Sarkar (2005).
