In the aftermath of Alex Jeffrey Pretti's killing, the protestors in US' Minneapolis asked the immigrant officials to leave the town.

Along with the twin cities, the protests over the killing of Alex Jeffrey Pretti are spreading across several US cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland. 

The protestors expressed their agitation against ICE.

Following the killing of Alex Jefferey Pretti, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass filed a lawsuit, asking President Trump not to deploy armed federal agents in Minneapolis, or any other US cities, as reported by the New York Times.

The residents of the twin cities are lighting candles in memory of Alex Pretti, the 37-year-old nurse, killed in the firing of the US federal agents.

The police officials in Minneapolis, United States, have confirmed that Alex Jeffrey Pretti had a valid gun licence and he also had the permit to carry gun in public place.

The 37-year-old Minneapolis victim, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, worked as an intensive care unit nurse at the city's VA hospital. He also took part in protests against the anti-immigration crackdown policies.

Former US Vice President Kamala Harris said she was enraged and heartbroken for Alex, his family, Minneapolis, and America. 

"Alex Jeffrey Pretti was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. His life, through his profession, was dedicated to serving his community and our country. As so many have now seen on video, his final act before he was killed by federal agents was doing everything in his power to protect his community. Alex and tens of thousands of Minnesotans have boldly defended their neighbors against the murderous occupation of an American city by the federal government. I am enraged and heartbroken for Alex, his family, Minneapolis, and America," Harris said. 

Calling the shooting an “avoidable tragedy”, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said that the tragedy is the “result of the total failure of Minnesota’s city and state officials who have resisted federal law enforcement and created this escalation.” He further said in a statement that the Justice Department will “continue to hold those breaking federal law accountable, including those who harass and violently attack law enforcement in the name of protest.”
 

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, in a post on X, thanked God for the “patriots” who work for ICE and slammed the leadership of Minnesota. 

"Thank God for the patriots of @ICEgov — we have your back 100%. You are SAVING the country. Shame on the leadership of Minnesota — and the lunatics in the street," he said.
 

Nancy Pelosi, an American politician who was the 52nd speaker of the United States House of Representatives, said the killing of another American citizen in Minneapolis by federal agents this is outrageous, shameful and indefensible. 

"The killing of another American citizen in Minneapolis by federal agents this morning is outrageous, shameful and indefensible. There must be justice and accountability for this state violence masquerading as “public safety.” Enough. Let us all pray for our country," Pelosi wrote on X.
 

Governor Tim Walz said that he didn't have confidence that President Trump would do the right thing. "I don't have confidence Trump will do the right thing," he said. 

President Donald Trump, reacting to the Minneapolis incident, accused the Mayor and governor of inciting insurrection.

"Our understanding is that multiple officers were involved in the shooting," said Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara
