'Tis the season of sitcoms. A mix of old and new sitcoms is all set to hit the small screen soon, giving us hope that these comedies will start a new trend.

Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai: Come May 16, and the popular 2004 sitcom is all set to return in a digital avatar, on hotstar. Starring Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar and Deven Bhojani, the show has also added a couple of new faces to its cast.

TV, Biwi Aur Main: Amidst news of Shararat 2 making a comeback, Shruti Seth has announced her comeback venture with actor Karan Veer Mehra--TV, Biwi Aur Main. Interestingly, TV is one of the characters in the upcoming show.

Bhaag Bakool Bhaag: Bhaag Bakool Bhaag revolves around a Gujarati man Bakool Vasavda (played by Jay Soni) who is torn between his two wives Jigna (Shruti Rawat) and Sheena (Hiba Nawab). Adding to the complications of keeping both his wives separate and happy, are his overdramatic mother Kokilaben (Purvi Vyas) and his best friend-cum-confidante Harishankar Upadhyay aka Harry (Hardik Sangani). Both wives have drastically different personalities, with Jigna being more traditional while Tina has a modern outlook towards life.

Bakula Bua Ka Bhoot: Apart from the web series Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai: Take 2 producer JD Majethia is coming up with another show Bakula Bua Ka Bhoot, which will be written by the writer of Sarabhai...Aatish Kapadia. The show will also have Apara Mehta of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi fame in prominent role. She will play a Gujarati woman, a fun character.

Hip Hip Hurray: 20 years after the show first premiered, it is returning back as web series. The original show starred Shabbir Ahluwalia, Kishwer Merchant, Shveta Salve, Vishal Malhotra, Purab Kohli, Nilanjana Sharma, Peeya Rai Chowdhary, Candida Fernandes, Rushad Rana, Sharokh Bharucha, Suchitra Pillai and Vinay Pathak

Hum Paanch Phir Se: Ekta Kapoor's 90s sitcom Hum Paanch is making a comeback and would be called Hum Paanch Phir Se. According to reports, the new version will be given a fresh twist and but will have all the instrinsic elements intact. It will also have a new cast in place.

Shriman Shrimati: According to reports the remake of the 90s comedy show is being planned with Barkha Bisht Sengupta, Ami Trivedi, Karishma Tanna, Divya Bhatnagar, Suresh Menon and Sameer Shah in key roles.

Khichdi: After two successful seasons--Khichdi and Instant Khichdi and a movie adaptation, the show--which had popular characters like Babuji, Hansa, Praful, Jayshree--is returning back with a new season apparently.
