Haven't had a discussion about Ashwin's future at KXIP yet, says coach Kumble

There have been rumours doing the rounds that Kings XI captain Ravichandran Ashwin might shift to the Delhi Capitals next season. When asked about Ashwin's future in the team, new coach Anil Kumble said there is still some time to take a call on that.

"I have just come on board and haven't had a discussion about the squad yet. We still have time to think about it. We will let everybody know of our decision but nothing as of now," Kumble told India Today.

Kumble's appointment comes at a time when Kings XI are struggling to make an impact in IPL despite the presence of big names in the side. But the former India coach is not too worried about KXIP's past record and just wants to make the team more consistent in the upcoming season.

"I have got another opportunity to work with the players and I am really looking forward to that. In IPL, whether you have a good start or not the finish has to be good, it's a roller coaster ride. I don't want the team to panic because it can happen when if you constantly focus on the points table.

"If you are third on the table and lose 2 games then you can drop down to 7th. Then after a win you can go up again. You keep going up and down in the table in the IPL. Consistency will be my main focus in Kings XI Punjab," Kumble told India Today.
