Team India needs Virat Kohli, Anil Kumble to be together: Harbhajan Singh to India Today

Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said he has known both Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble for several years and reiterated that both were mature individuals, who always had the best interest of Indian cricket at heart.

"I have known Kumble for so many years and he is the most ideal man," Harbhajan told India Today. "I always go to him whenever I need any advice. He has interest if Indian cricket is on his mind and I know Virat as well. Both are very mature individuals.

"I don't think Virat or Kumble will have any problems with each other. If people like Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman have spoken to them, then it's the best. This is not the time for any clash and the team needs them together. Cricket should remain on top. If there are any issues, they should resolve them after the Champions Trophy," he added.

Reports of rift between skipper Kohli and coach Kumble had surfaced before the start of the ICC Champions Trophy in England, where India are defending the title they won back in 2013.

According to sources, Kohli had spoken out against Kumble's intimidating attitude in the dressing-room and it seemed like all was not well in the camp.

Nitin Naveen Takes Charge As BJP National President; PM Modi Calls Him 'My Boss'

In a significant generational shift, Nitin Naveen has formally taken charge as the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). During the felicitation ceremony at the party headquarters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the transition, stating that in party matters, 'Nitin Nabin is my boss and I am the karekarta.' Born in June 1980, Naveen is the youngest president in the party's history, being younger than the organization itself. The Prime Minister emphasized that Naveen, as a millennial leader, is uniquely positioned to connect with Gen Z and first-time voters. The transition signals a fourth-generation leadership aimed at the vision of 'Vixit Bharat' by 2047. While Naveen faces upcoming state assembly elections, the party leadership views his appointment as a long-term strategy to overhaul the organization with younger faces. Naveen, previously a worker from Bihar, noted that his rise demonstrates how any dedicated 'karekarta' can reach the top leadership in the BJP.
