Spot-fixing case: Verdict on tainted Pak cricketers deferred

The decision on the spot-fixing row involving tainted Pakistan trioSalman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif has been deferred to February 5.

During the closing presentation of the six-day hearing, Mohammad Amir's lawyer Shahid Karim asked for a deferment.

Amir's lawyer requested the judges to look at the case with due consideration before announcing the verdict.

The hearing has been conducted behind closed doors at the Qatar Financial Centre since January 6.

The lawyers for the three players presented their closing arguments on Tuesday.

Amir, who spoke to reporters in Doha, said that he was hoping that the decision would come out in his favour.
