Will Amethi be litmus test for Rahul Gandhi?

Congress president Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination papers from Amethi on Wednesday for 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Rahul Gandhi is seeking a fourth parliamentary term in a region of eastern Uttar Pradesh that he has represented since 2004.

Union Minister Smriti Irani, who lost to Rahul Gandhi in 2014 despite polling over 3 lakh votes, will file her nomination there tomorrow: April 11.

In addition to his bid to retain Amethi, Rahul Gandhi is standing for election from Kerala's Wayanad. He filed his nomination last week.
