Devotees gather for Amrit Snan at Maha Kumbh; Jallikattu kicks off Pongal celebrations

Several devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj to participate in the Amrit Snan, a significant ritual of the Maha Kumbh Mela. On this occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister wished devotees on Makar Sankranti and Amrit Snan.

The current edition of the Maha Kumbh, held every 12 years, is said to be uniquely significant due to celestial alignments occurring after 144 years, as claimed by religious leaders.

The annual bull-taming event 'Jallikattu' kicked off at Avaniyapuram in Tamil Nadu's Madurai district today, coinciding with the Pongal festival. This year's event featured 1,100 bulls and 900 bull tamers, celebrated with traditional pomp and grandeur.
