IPL 2019 was personally satisfying: CSK star Harbhajan Singh to India Today

India's World Cup-winning off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said his performances in IPL 2019 for Chennai Super Kings was personally satisfying despite the heartbreak in the final against Mumbai Indians on Sunday.

CSK lost the IPL 2019 final after being in a winning position in most part of thier 150-run chase in Hyderabad. Shane Watson hit 80 from just 59 balls but CSK fell short of MI's total by 1 run.

Nonetheless, it was a remarkable season for Harbhajan Singh as the veteran off-spinner picked up 16 wickets from just 11 matches. Harbhajan was MS Dhoni's go-to-man with the ball inside the powerplay overs throughout IPL 2019.

Despite bowling most of his overs inside the powerplay wherein not more than 2 fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle, Harbhajan conceded at a miserly rate of 7.09.

Speaking to India Today on Monday, Harbhajan Singh said: "Well, personally it's been a satisfying IPL for me. Last year, I couldn't do much because I could do much because my knees were really sore. This year, body wise, I was up there. I was really happy with the way the ball was coming out of my hand.

"It's lovely to be out there and competing with some of the top players and coming on top against them was satisfying. I bowled most of my overs inside the powerplay. That's where the team wanted me to bowl. By bowling well and taking those wickets was quite satisfying.

"Imran [Tahir] and I share a great relationship. We bowled really well. If he had finished off well, it could have been the ideal IPL for us."

40-year-old leg-spinner Imran Tahir was the star performer for CSK as the South Africa spinner won the Purple Cap for the most number of wickets in IPL 2019 with 26 wickets from 17 matches.
