Doctors lash out at Trinamool MLA, controversy over Netflix's 'IC 814'

The BJP tweeted an undated video of Trinamool Congress MLA Arundhuti Maitra, also known as Lovely Maitra, referring to the doctors protesting the Kolkata rape-murder case as "butchers." In another video shared by the BJP, Maitra is reportedly seen stating that she knows how to "lower" the fingers pointed at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Meanwhile, the Netflix series 'IC 814,' which portrays the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 by Pakistan-based terror group Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, caused a stir on social media for only using the hijackers' Hindu codenames. In response to the controversy over the series' portrayal of the hijackers, Netflix India content chief Monika Shergill appeared before the Information and Broadcasting Ministry officials on Tuesday, following a summons.
