Politics over armed forces: Veterans divided, politicians spar

Even as armed forces veterans are divided over the letter sent to the President raising concerns over leaders using military for "political gains", Congress on Friday accused PM Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders of using armed forces for garnering votes.

The party also urged the President to take action against Modi, Yogi Adityanath, and other BJP leaders for alleged use of the military to seek votes.

On Thursday, over 150 veterans including some former Army, Navy and Air Force chiefs, reportedly wrote to the President, but now some veterans denied having anything to do with the letter.
