Roshni Act: India Today investigation of Jammu and Kashmir's biggest land scam

An exclusive India Today investigation into the biggest Roshni land scam in Jammu and Kashmir finds the involvement of several leaders. The scam has been learnt to be to the tune of Rs 25,000 crore. The J&K state land act passed in 2001. Through the Roshni Act, land ownership could be transferred for a fee and the money was to be used for power projects. The scheme failed to meet its target and a CAG report found huge irregularities. Now allegations have been levelled against political leaders to be involved in the biggest land scam in Jammu and Kashmir. CBI is now investigating the matter.
