Should Alok Verma have been given hearing before being removed?

Alok Verma, a 1979-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, was shunted out of the CBI Director post by a high-powered selection panel headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, following the Supreme Court order that reinstated him on Tuesday. Verma was removed from the post on charges of corruption and dereliction of duty.
