Maharashtra man kills daughter to contest polls, Piyush Goyal hails India-US trade deal

A 28-year-old man allegedly murdered his six-year-old daughter to qualify for June panchayat elections in Maharashtra's Nanded district. Under the Maharashtra Panchayat Raj Act, candidates are restricted to two children; the accused, who had three, reportedly pushed his daughter into a canal in Nizamabad. He is now arrested.
