SC dog issue: Rally at Jantar Mantar

On 4th January, dog lovers, experts, and activists held a rally at Jantar Mantar to oppose the Supreme Court’s hearing on the stray dogs case.

On Nov 7th, the Supreme Court passed an order that all stray dogs should be removed from public places – like bus stops, parks, roads, and shops and shifted to large designated shelters after vaccination and sterilisation.

Some of the speakers at the event were Ambika Shukla, Gauri Maulekhi, Gauri Puri, Yogita Bhayana and Maha Singh Sharma. Singers Mohit Chauhan and Rahul Ram performed at the rally. 

The next hearing to happen on 9th January.
