Malabar Naval Exercise 2020: Here is All You Need to Know

The Indian Navy, US Navy, Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force and Royal Australian Navy participate in the second phase of the 24th edition of the Malabar Naval Exercise in the Arabian Sea. Indian Navy ships Ranvijay, Shivalik, Shakti, Sukanya, and submarine Sindhuraj participated in the naval exercise along with US Navy ship John S McCain, Australian Navy's long-range frigate HMAS Ballarat, and Japan Maritime Self Defence Force's JS Onami.
The mega exercise is taking place at a time India and China are locked in a nearly six-month-long bitter border standoff in eastern Ladakh.
The Malabar naval exercise first started in 1992 as a bilateral Indian Navy-United States Navy drill. Japan joined this naval exercise in 2015 and in 2020, Australia is the new participant in this joint maritime exercise for the first time. Watch the video & find out more.
