Upendra fans turn Navarang Theatre into a celebration zone as #45TheMovie hits screens. They perform pooja and shower milk on Upendra’s cutout, creating a festive live atmosphere.

Two Kannada films, Mark and 45, clashed at the theatres on Thursday. Mark, an action thriller, stars Kichha Sudeep in a key role. It’s directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa and is a sequel to the 2024 superhit, Max. Deepshika, Shine Tom Chacko, Yogi Babu, Guru Somasundaram, Dragon Manju, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Nishvika Naidu, and others play supporting roles.
45, on the other hand, is composer Arjun Janya’s directorial debut. The film features an ensemble cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra, Raj B. Shetty, Kaustubha Mani, and Jisshu Sengupta.
A part of India Today’s review of the film read, “45 is a concept-driven multi-starrer that warrants a theatrical watch – for its ambition, its ideas, and for the coming together of Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra, and Raj B Shetty.”
The live coverage of the film releases of Mark and 45 has come to an end.
As per online buzz, Mark is witnessing an occupancy of 95% in multiplexes across Karnataka. It is also reported that the offline footfall is more than online bookings.

A fan has questioned online why Kichha Sudeep's film Mark was not released in Mumbai.
He wrote on X, "Why the Mark Movie is not released in Mumbai. We were eagerly waiting for Mark and 45 Kannada movies to be released today in Mumbai. It's unfortunate we could not watch the first day's first show. (sic)"

Check out the public review and audience reaction to Mark, starring Kichcha Sudeepa in a powerful, mass-driven role. Directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa and elevated by Ajaneesh Loknath’s intense background score, the film delivers high-octane moments designed for the big-screen experience.
A part of India Today's review of Mark read, "Mark is another entertainer from Sudeep for Christmas. It delivers mass appeal through its action and class through its investigative thriller elements. While the film does come with its share of flaws, for anyone looking for a fun time at the theatres, Sudeep’s swag is more than enough to make up for them. A recommended theatrical experience, as his screen presence is best enjoyed on the big screen."
As Mark hit the theatres, Naveen Chandra expressed his gratitude on social media. He posted on X, "Standing here with folded hands and a full heart. With the blessings of Puneeth Rajkumar sir. You are missed beyond words. Appu sir. Today, I step into Kannada cinema as Badhra. #MarkTheFilm releases today."

Another X user reviewed Kichha Sudeep's Mark and wrote, "Brilliant from the first go. Multiple storylines unfold in the 1st half, and every dot is neatly ticked in the 2nd half. Ultra stylish, mental mass characterization for our Baadshah, hands down his best action film so far. Ajaneesh’s BGM elevates the film big time."

Reviews have started pouring in for both films. One of the X users gave Mark 2.5 stars and wrote, "Finally review times for both Kannada movies which clashed on Christmas. Mark movie somehow misses to be marked as epic among audiences, but epic performance by Kichha Sudeep (sic)."
"45 movie - being 45 feels like 90. Kudos to Arjun Janya music (sic)," the user added, giving the film 3.5 stars.

It’s that time of the year for Kannada cine-lovers, when the biggest stars arrive on theatre screens near you to wish audiences a Merry Christmas. Last year, it was director Upendra and Kichcha Sudeep rubbing shoulders in healthy competition and this year the same stalwarts are back. While Upendra returns as an actor alongside Shiva Rajkumar and Raj B Shetty in 45, Sudeep is back with yet another cop drama in Mark – setting up a festive face-off at the box office, much like last year’s UI and Max.
Details have emerged regarding the fees of the cast and crew of Mark. According to a Filmibeat report, Kichcha Sudeepa is being paid Rs 15 crore for the film. Naveen Chandra is reportedly being paid around Rs 2 crore. Deepshika and Nishvika Naidu are reportedly taking home a fee of Rs 80 lakh and Rs 70 lakh, respectively.
