Nora Fatehi suffers minor injuries after drunk driver rams her car in Mumbai

Actor-performer Nora Fatehi was involved in a minor road accident in Mumbai on Saturday evening while she was heading to the Sunburn Festival, police said. The incident occurred around 4 pm when an allegedly intoxicated driver rammed his car into the vehicle carrying the actor.

Police arrested 27-year-old Vinay Sakpal, whose car allegedly dashed the vehicle in which the actress was riding. He was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, the official said.

According to Mumbai Police, Fatehi did not suffer any serious injuries in the accident. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for first aid, where doctors confirmed that her condition was stable.

After a medical check-up, she attended the festival in South Mumbai, sources said.

The driver has been booked under sections related to rash driving and driving under the influence. Further investigation is underway.

Despite the incident, Fatehi chose to go ahead with her professional commitment and performed at the Sunburn Festival later in the evening. Reports said the medical team carried out precautionary scans, including a CT scan, to rule out internal injuries. A source told India Today that doctors confirmed she had sustained a slight concussion from the impact but cleared her to attend the event with care.

“Nora Fatehi was involved in an unfortunate car accident while on her way to the Sunburn Festival for her scheduled appearance with David Guetta. Despite medical advice to rest, she insisted on fulfilling her professional commitments and made her scheduled appearance at Sunburn,” the source said.

Sunburn, traditionally held in Goa, is being organised in Mumbai this year. The three-day electronic dance music festival began on December 19 and will conclude on December 21. Launched in 2007 in Vagator, Goa, the festival later moved to Pune between 2016 and 2018 before returning to Goa. In recent years, the event has faced public backlash and bureaucratic challenges in the coastal state, prompting a shift in venue.

Fatehi has been enjoying a strong run on both international and domestic fronts. She recently made her US television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performing her song What Do I Know? (Just a Girl) alongside Jamaican singer Shenseea.

On the acting front, she has several projects lined up, including her foray into South Indian cinema with upcoming films Kanchana 4 and KD: The Devil. Earlier this year, she appeared in Be Happy, Uff Yeh Siyappa, and the web series The Royals opposite Ishaan Khatter, further cementing her growing presence across film industries.
