Sanya Malhotra on working with Vidya Balan in Shakuntala Devi: She makes the set a happy place

Sanya Malhotra would act like a complete fan girl whenever she would meet Vidya Balan at events and parties, the actress then got a chance to star with Vidya in Shakuntala Devi. On India Today’s e-Mind Rocks 2020, Sanya opened up on her experience of working with Vidya in Shakuntala Devi.

She said, "I am a huge Vidya Balan fan. I can't believe I have done a film with her. I was so nervous on the sets around her. Before Shakuntala Devi, whenever I would meet her at any event, I would act like a complete fan girl. In the film, only in front of the camera, I could feel that she is playing Shakuntala Devi and I am playing her daughter. I am so happy, the film is looking so good. She is brilliant, she is an amazing human being. She has a witty sense of humour. She makes the film's sets a happy place to be."

Shakuntala Devi's genius was first discovered at the age of five, when she solved a math problem for 18-year-old students. She is also known as the Human Computer. The film features Vidya in the titular role of the mathematical wizard.

Shakuntala Devi will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from July 31.
