I had just started working independently and Gaurav was already a successful design entrepreneur running a graphic design firm. He reached out to me to design his house in Gurgaon. We ended up working together on that house and we enjoyed that process so much that it became the basis of our firm, resulting in the inception of Hive. Mandeep joined us along the way, about three to four years into the business, but the foundation of the firm is rooted in our love for designing residential spaces.Your area of specialisation?Designing bespoke residences that resonate with the inhabitants; we create spaces where you feel like you belong. Architecture, interior design and styling are what we specialise in, as well as commercial projects.How many projects have you done?We’ve worked on around 150 projects so far. Even during my tenure as a financial analyst, this continued. Finally, I took a bold leap 15 years ago, transitioning from finance and founded Studio Jane Designs in June 2018.Your area of specialisation?The studio’s area of specialisation is rooted in creating high-end, luxury spaces that merge creativity with deeply personal narratives across luxury residential and hospitality.Projects you have done?I have led the design of over 70 plus projects, while with my team at Studio Jane Designs, we’ve brought to life more than 50 plus residential and commercial projects. It allowed us to explore silk textures, tones, and look-alikes used in various forms across the three dimensions. The real joy was transforming a compact space into an organic, understated luxury silk home. We used bamboo silk wallpapers, silk upholstery and bespoke artworks of different silks.What are you working on?We currently have 16 plus projects underway across the country, spanning boutique hospitality ventures, residential spaces, and hybrid typologies such as high-end villas. However, the project that excites me the most is the ongoing boutique resort in Karjat.What’s your design style?I alternate between traditional aesthetics and contemporary influences. The practice was envisioned in my first year of design school itself. Resaiki was born out of my belief that design should connect with the human soul, create positive energy, and elevate the lives of those who inhabit the space.Your area of specialisation?Our specialisation is rooted in creating holistic spaces that transcend the aesthetics to physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions. Vaastu, colour psychology and holistic healing are foundational principles of our design approach, distinct from transient trends.How many projects have you done?Since our inception, we have successfully executed over 100 projects of various typologies in the residential, commercial, and institutional sectors across more than seven cities in India and Nepal. The home is designed to be open and accessible, with dual entrances and a layout that flows seamlessly.What are you working on?Currently, I am designing my residence, Yutori, where I can fully integrate my design philosophy. Additionally, we are working on a luxurious residential project, County 107 and a hospital in Pune that emphasises spiritual healing in its design. Each project inspires us to innovate.What’s your design style?Our design style is a seamless fusion of luxury, functionality and spirituality, deeply rooted in human-centric principles.
