Although Samar isn't doing <i>BPL Oye!</i> anymore and <i>Muqabla</i> remains off the air, he continues to direct <i>Hum Aapke Hain Kountdown</i>. </p><p>So, what's new about this one? There are no ratings, says Samar. Not in any conventional sense at least. Instead, songs will be played in a list that ranges from <i>kachcha</i> (uncooked) <i>papad</i> to <i>pucca</i> (cooked). </p><p>The show - anchored by new faces, Aparna Tilak and Ravi Iyer - will feature mainly Indipop numbers with a section on <i>desi</i> (local) <i>papad</i> for regional songs and videshi (foreign) papad. </p><p>"I don't take countdown shows very seriously," says Samar. "Nobody should. A shocking case of drunk driving has emerged from Bengaluru, where a car jumped a divider and crashed into a restaurant in the Indiranagar area. India Today's Nagarjun Dwarkanath reports that the incident, which occurred around 11:30 PM, was captured on CCTV. The footage shows the vehicle narrowly missing several pedestrians. According to Dwarkanath, 'In a whisper, the five pedestrians were just sitting there and chatting, standing there and chatting. Missed the car hitting them.' Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the car's airbags deployed, and the driver survived the crash. Police have issued a notice for the driver to appear. The incident highlights the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol in the heart of the city.
