So, it's official now. After months of speculation, Chandraprakash Dwivedi's departure from Zee is now a matter of record. Dwivedi, who hasn't been attending office for several months, finally declared: "I always said I wouldn't remain here for long. I am not an administrative man."Speculation on why things went so terribly wrong for Chanakya remains. Dwivedi was tipped to be a programming genius who could turn things around for Zee. Instead, he was soon relegated to a back-room job, bogged down with programming responsibilities. "I was being fair neither to myself nor to the channel." For now, Dwivedi says he wants to concentrate on his own projects. He's written a script on Partition and is working on a TV serial on Parshuram. But the project that excites him most is a film called Khajuraho. It begins with the same letter as Mira Nair's Kama Sutra. Both films have the same art director, Nitin Desai.
