How do you teach an MTV generation about a man called Subhas Chandra Bose? Easy. You make a short film with lots of music.That's what Alaknanda Roy, former ad professional, has done. An offbeat idea took flight last year and resulted in two three-minute films for TV. There's none of the usual biographical stuff that you might expect. Instead, the first is a lyrical tribute shot against documentary visuals. The second has such film celebrities as Vinod Khanna and Jackie Shroff reciting Ali Sardar Jafri's verse (he's also done the lyrics for the first). Both films have been made as fillers. Says Roy: "There are all kinds of mindless fillers on TV these days. These films at least put today's generation in touch with the country's leaders."
