Rural electrification numbers vary, depending on whether one is looking at households electrified or villages electrified. </p><p>Household electrification is a better indicator and the best states are Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Kerala, in that order. For 2009-10, using households employed as a share of total bpl households, the best performers among the large states are Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, in that order.
