Germany was one of their first markets.</p><p>Four decades on, their Agra-based company has a turnover of Rs 111 crore. Making nearly 100,000 pairs a month, it exports to markets across Europe, the US, Canada, South Africa and Australia.</p><p>The company has inhouse testing for products at each stage of production. It has been awarded a certificate of merit by the Council of Leather Exports, among other awards. Having diversified into safety workwear, the company makes accessories and apparel such as goggles and gloves besides shoes. As Varun Bhudiraja, president (operations), says, "We see a lot of potential in manufacturing safety workwear.
