It can be understood why the import regulations seek to curb the inflow of foreign watches, stereo systems and other luxury goods. But in relation to photographic equipment, import regulations tend to be harsh and unjust. Even in the field of journalism he has contributed practically nothing other than verbosity. Brata speaks of the 'grotesque assaults on English grammar' by our newspaper editors. Bhabani Sen Gupta has focused on relevant facts and personalities and has exposed both the right and the wrong in their true perspective and colour. The recent farmers' stir and public sector workers' strike, though not effective in .. its purpose, are indications of the discontentment within. The slowly simmering volcano is bound to explode and the only way this can be prevented is by saying hell with the sycophant chief minister and finding a suitable alternative, such as the Congress(S).<br><i>Bangalore</i><b>Sunil Padiyar</b><br><br>Muru darigullu (Karnataka Survey) means "three roads" and not waves of the sea; Manipal is in south Kanara district and not in Mangalore district, and the famous sculptor is Rinjal Gopal Shenoy and not Ranjan Gopal Shenoy. Debler Rs 4,73,628; General Manager, Nasik factory, H. F. Krole Rs 3,96,018 and General Manager Research and Development K. Major Rs 3,11,615-according to their printed balance sheet of 1980. Delhi-New York-Delhi, which was quoted at Rs 9,036 (excursion), could be bought for Rs 8,000 with two stops en route. A return ticket to Bangkok is going a begging for Rs 2,200 these days. Gujarat Narmada sold shares six months ago and we don't even know whether we are shareholders!
