ELECTED N.N. Vohra, former home secretary, president of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation. Vohra, who has trekked extensively, succeeds cec M.S. Gill who has been imf president from 1993 to 1999.AWARDED The world famous Kaziranga National Park, the home of the one-horned rhino, the Millennium Award, by the World Wildlife Fund (WWf), for its exceptional conservation programme. The park, which has 1,400-odd one-horned rhinos and some of the best forest officers in the country, has been awarded for the second successive year.
