Bristol County Ground, Bristol

One of the oldest county grounds of England, it was bought by W G Grace in the year 1889. ODI’s are a rare fixture here, thanks to the small capacity seating of 7000. The home of Gloucestershire, it has been handled by a number of owners like Fry, Royal and Sun Alliance and so on. The ground rooted in cricketing history housed its first ODI between New Zealand and Sri Lanka on June 13, 1983. It hosted its first T20 between England and Pakistan on August 28, 2006. Bordered by trees it makes for a rural setting. The ground also serves as a general sports centre, with squash and tennis courts, and in winter the turf serves as the target for a golf driving range.
