Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street

The Riverside Ground is one of England’s newest stadiums established in 1995 and located at Chester-le-Street, with a seating capacity of 5000. It hosted its first tie when Durham took on the touring New Zealanders in 1992. The development took off much later and the ground got its due during the 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup. The ground then hosted its first ODI in 1999 as part of the World Cup between Pakistan and Scotland and then it hosted its first Test between England and Zimbabwe in, 2003. The venue then became the first new Test ground in England after 1902. Although it has a long way before reaching the list of established stadiums, it is definitely making steady progress.
