Rahul Gandhi resigns as Congress president

Rahul Gandhi has officially resigned from the post of Congress president. Taking full responsibility for party's defeat in 2019 election, Rahul said that accountability is critical for the future growth of party.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted four pages resignation letter. The letter said, "As President of the Congress party, I am responsible for the loss of the 2019 election. Accountability is critical for the future growth of our party. "

"It is for this reason that I have resigned as Congress President."

Meanwhile, speculations are rife that party veteran Motilal Vora is likely to be party's interim chief.
