In a speech at Samastipur, Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined the NDA government's development work, contrasting it with the previous 'jungle raj' era and highlighting investments in infrastructure, digital connectivity, and agriculture. 'Their one prime minister used to say that for every one rupee sent, only fifteen paise reached...which hand was it that used to skim 85 paise?' Modi stated, referencing past corruption. He detailed projects like the Samastipur-Purnia six-lane highway, the introduction of Vande Bharat trains, and providing cheap internet data that has empowered the youth. The Prime Minister also focused on agricultural achievements, noting that under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, Bihar has nearly doubled its fish production and is now exporting fish. He expressed his vision to make Makhana a global brand, supported by the newly formed Makhana Board, and mentioned the direct financial aid provided to farmers through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
