Nipah scare returns: Isolation wards opened in Kerala

Five people in Kerala have been kept under observation in the isolation ward in the wake of Nipah virus outbreak that resurfaced in the state once again after a year.

So far, the health condition of the five patients is stable and their blood samples have been sent to National Institute of Virology in Pune. The results are expected tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called an assessment meeting in Kochi on Thursday in the wake of the outbreak.
