Navjot Sidhu to take charge as Punjab Congress chief on July 23

Navjot Singh Sidhu will take charge as Punjab Congress chief (PCC) on July 23. Meanwhile, according to sources, Captain Amarinder Singh is unlikely to attend the event. Amarinder is firm on his stand that he wants Sidhu to apologise for his derogatory tweets.

Earlier in the day, Sidhu held a meeting with about 62 party MLAs at his residence in Amritsar on Wednesday, his office claimed. The new PCC chief called the meeting "winds of change".

Navjot Singh Sidhu was appointed as the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief on Sunday. A day later, Navjot Singh Sidhu met party leaders considered close to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
