Mamata Banerjee snubs Centre's order to release Bengal chief secy in letter to PM Modi

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday snubbed the central government's order to release state Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay so that he could report to Delhi, saying the state government "cannot release, and is not releasing" him.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mamata Banerjee said she was "shocked" and "stunned" by the "unilateral order" to recall Alapan Bandyopadhyay to the Centre. Mamata Banerjee also requested the central government to "reconsider and rescind" the order requiring the Bengal chief secretary to report to New Delhi.
