J&K: 2 BSNL officers arrested for providing phone access to Syed Geelani during communication blackout

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has suspended two BSNL officers associated with separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani after it was found that he had internet access for four days during the intensive clampdown and the communication blackout in the state.

On August 4, all communication lines were snapped across Kashmir, including landlines, ahead of the Centre's announcement on August 5 of abrogating Article 370.
