A Tamil film producer and former DMK worker, Jaffar Sadiq, was arrested in a drug trafficking case. He told the NCB that he had given Rs 7 lakh to Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, sources said. Sadiq claimed he gave the amount to DMK ministers and invested in real estate. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's son could be called in for questioning in connection with the case, sources added.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Gyaneshwar Singh, the Deputy Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), said, "Jaffar Sadiq identifies himself as the deputy head of Chennai (West District) of the DMK. And he told us about the drug money, during the preliminary probe, he said he has invested in the film industry, hotel industry, construction and funds to a few people."
"Few links with Bollywood (Hindi film industry) have surfaced too. The drug money trail in under probe," Singh said.
Sadiq was arrested in connection with a Rs 2,000 crore drug trafficking case.
